An Institution Builder, a Promoter of Muslim Unity

MADINA / Bangalore: Nov 20, 2011. Hafiz Maulana Riyazur Rahman Rashadi Imam-O-Khateeb of City Jamia Masjid Bangalore expired in Makkah this morning. He had gone there to perform Hajj. Born in Gonibeed village, Mudigere town in Chickamagalur district, he had graduated from a premier Islamic institution from city, ‘Sabilur Rashad’. He was famous for his eloquent speeches (mostly Khutbaat-e-Jumma), and religious columns in local Urdu newspapers.

He held the position of Imam O Khateeb of the famous City Jamia Masjid in the Bangalore for many years. He successfully transformed the Masjid into a centre of Islamic activities for the overall reformation of society following on the lines of Masjid-e-Nabuvi.   Maulana’s services in the field of unity of Muslims, education, economic upliftment, and empowerment of Muslim women through education will be remembered.

Still we can live together peacefully and promote unity of all. This is the basis of Deen (Religion).”
